It is happening at a very unprecedented rate. A report from the leaders of Iraq who take care of water said in 2021 that the rivers might have no water by the time we reach the year 2040.

Euphrates River is among the four rivers that Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) saw in his dream. Saihan, Jaihan, Euphrates and Nile are all among the rivers of Paradise. Sahih Muslim 2839
