How many days Qurbani is allowed?

Qurbani starts after Eid Salah on the 10th of Zul Hijjah. It ends at sunset on the 12th of Zul Hijjah. It’s best to do Qurbani on the first day, then the second, and then the third. If someone offers Sacrifice before Eid Salah, they must do it again.

If someone misses doing Sacrifice on the mentioned dates, they should give its value to charity. If Eid Salah is in different places, Qurbani can start after the first place finishes Salah.

When doing Sacrifice in a different country, consider the time of both places. Sacrifice should be done after the valid time in both locations. This is safest because it’s a debated issue.

Is female goat allowed for Qurbani?

There are four types of animals for Qurbani. They are: camel (five years old), cow, bull, ox, or buffalo (two years old), goat, sheep, or ram (one year old). A sheep between 6 months and 1 year old that looks like a 1-year-old sheep is also okay.

Animals for Sacrifice should be healthy and defect-free. An animal with defects, like missing ears, broken horns, blindness, or lameness, is not suitable for Qurbani. But if it can walk with a limp, it’s okay.

Is the age of a Qurbani animal considered or its teeth? It is permissible to perform Qurbani of an animal even if its teeth have not yet grown, as long as it has reached the required age. The minimum ages are: 5 years for a camel, 2 years for a cow, and 1 year for a goat, sheep, or ewe.
What if traders claim the animal is of the right age but customers doubt?Customers may doubt traders’ claims due to past deception. Some traders resort to deceitful practices like taping severed tails or hiding animal’s teeth. Trust in sellers has diminished due to such practices.
Is it valid to perform Qurbani if the buyer trusts the seller’s claim about the animal’s age?If the buyer trusts the seller, and the seller is adherent to Shari’ah and righteous, then Qurbani is valid even if the animal’s teeth haven’t grown. It’s preferable for the animal to have four teeth, but two teeth are common nowadays.
Why do some buyers purchase animals with no teeth at a discounted price?Buyers purchasing young animals without teeth at a reduced price are likely butchers intending to slaughter them for meat sale, not for Qurbani.
On which day is it best to do Qurbani?Qurbani is allowed on all three days of Eid, but it’s better on the first day. Some people choose other days to save money, but it’s losing out on the better reward. Even if it’s harder, doing good deeds brings better rewards.
