Miracles of the Quran is widely acknowledged as a remarkable work of literature. Its language, style, eloquence, and power had no equal in seventh century Arabia. They still have no match today. There is ongoing debate about if it is miraculous.
But, evidence of its divine authority keeps emerging as humanity’s knowledge grows. In this study, we focus on one part of the Qur’an’s words. It shows its divine origin as a linguistic miracle.
The language of the Qur’an is not human brilliance. It comes from Allah, not Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). He acted only as a channel for conveying. He delivered Allah’s final message. Even the most talented minds in literature, oratory, and poetry would struggle.
They would struggle to produce a chapter like it. This bold assertion in the Qur’an challenges critics. It highlights the importance of deductive logic, which was ahead of its time. The simplicity of the challenge itself is remarkable.
So, how has this challenge been met? Two key facts are still important. They challenge those who accept the Qur’an’s words but struggle with its divine origin.
- No errors have been found in its over 6,000 verses. This is despite many attempts.
- Efforts throughout history failed. They included mockery and real attempts by leading Arabic authorities. They lived in the era of the Prophet. They were exceptional at Arabic. The goal to replicate the Qur’an has been futile and embarrassing.
These facts are often overlooked in debates. But, they are significant hurdles for those questioning the Qur’an’s origins.
The birth of the universe
Qur’an describes the origin of the universe in the verse:
“He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth.”
Al-An’am 101
This statement aligns with the current understanding of astrophysics. Modern science says the universe, and matter and time in it, came into being. This happened through a rapid expansion.
This event is called the Big Bang. This event signifies the creation of the universe from nothing. It started from a single point. The idea of the Big Bang is widely accepted in science. It is seen as the most rational and supported explanation for the start of the universe.
Before the Big Bang, there was no matter, energy, or time. These elements were created at the same time.
What’s amazing is that modern physics discovered these deep insights only recently. But, the Quran mircales foreshadowed them over 1,400 years ago. Matter, energy, and time came from non-being.
This fact was in ancient scripture. It echoes our modern understanding of the universe’s birth. This mix of spiritual wisdom and science invites us to think about the deep mysteries of life and Quran mircales. It also asks us to see the link between faith and reason.
Miracles of the Quran and formation of milk
There is instruction for you in cattle. From the contents of their bellies, from between the dung and blood, We give you pure milk to drink, easy for drinkers to swallow.
(Surah An-Nahl – 66)
Our bodies get what they need through digestion. Food changes chemically in our stomachs and intestines. Then, the good stuff goes into our blood. Blood carries these nutrients to where they’re needed.
Just like other body parts, milk glands get their nourishment from the blood. Blood is really important for gathering nutrients from food.
Milk comes out of the milk glands after all these steps. It’s packed with good stuff for us.
We can’t drink what’s in an animal’s stomach or its blood directly. Doing that can make us very sick, even kill us. But Allah, with His amazing systems, gives us clean and healthy food like milk from these fluids.
Milk forms from digested food carried by the blood. It’s amazing how it happens. The Quran mircales talks about this miracle of milk formation.
The Qur’an’s description of milk formation lines up with what science tells us today. It’s clear this knowledge couldn’t have been known back then when the Qur’an was revealed.
Black hole and Miracles of the Quran
In the 20th century, scientists made many new discoveries about things in space. One of these discoveries is the Black Hole. When a star uses up all its fuel, it can collapse in on itself, forming a black hole. Black holes have infinite density, zero volume, and a super strong magnetic field.
They’re so powerful that even light can’t escape from them, which is why we can’t see them with telescopes. But we can tell they’re there because of how they affect things around them.
In the Qur’an, Allah talks about the positions of stars and how important they are. It’s like a big promise.
And I swear by the stars’ positions-and that is a mighty oath if you only knew.
(Surah Al-Waqi’ah – 75-76)
The term “black hole” was first used by a scientist named John Wheeler in 1969. Before that, we thought we could see all the stars. But then we found out that some stars are there, but we can’t see their light because they’ve turned into black holes.
These black holes are so dense that even light gets trapped by their strong gravity. It forms from a star three times the mass of the Sun. It could be as small as 20 kilometers (about 12.5 miles) across!
Black holes are called “black” because we can’t see them directly. But we know they’re there because of how they affect other things in space. The Qur’an is talking about black holes when it mentions stars going out.
Big stars can bend space, but black holes do even more—they tear holes in it. That’s why we call them black holes. This is what the Qur’an means by “stars.” It shows that the Qur’an contains important knowledge from Allah.
Pork and Its harmful effects on health
He has only forbidden you carrion, blood and pork and what has been consecrated to other than Allah. But anyone who is forced to eat it without desiring it or going to excess in it-commits no crime. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
(Surah Al-Baqarah – 173)
Eating pork can harm your health in many ways, even today, despite efforts to keep it safe. Pigs aren’t naturally clean animals. They often live in and eat their own waste. Because of this and their biology, pigs produce more antibodies.
They also make more growth hormones than other animals. These substances end up in their muscles, along with high levels of cholesterol and fats. Studies show that eating pork with these substances can seriously harm your health.
Countries like the USA and Germany, where people eat a lot of pork, have higher rates of obesity. Eating too much pork can cause weight gain. It can also cause physical problems from the extra growth hormones.
Pork can also contain a harmful worm called “trichina.” If you eat pork with this worm, it can settle in your heart muscles and be life-threatening. In the past, people didn’t know how to identify infected pigs, so anyone who ate pork risked getting sick.
These are just some reasons why it’s wise to avoid eating pork, as instructed by Allah. This rule protects us from the dangers of pork, no matter what.
We didn’t know about these dangers until modern times. But, the Qur’an warned against them 1400 years ago. This shows that the Qur’an contains knowledge from Allah. Despite modern precautions, pork remains harmful to human health.
The ears are active during sleep
So We sealed their ears [with sleep] in the cave for a number of years.
(Surah Al-Kahf – 11)
In the Qur’an, the phrase “We sealed their ears” uses the Arabic word “daraba.” It metaphorically means “We made them sleep” or “prevented their ears from hearing.” This is important because it focuses only on the sense of hearing.
Science tells us that when we sleep, our ears are the only senses that stay active. That’s why we need an alarm clock to wake up. When the Qur’an says “We sealed their ears,” it likely means that Allah closed their ears. He kept them asleep for many years.
The Importance of movement in sleep
And you would think they were awake while they were asleep. We turned them on their sides, right and left. And their dog had its forelegs stretched out to the doorstep. If you had a look at them, you would have fled away from them and would have been filled with awe of them.
(Surah Al-Kahf – 18)
The verse from the Qur’an describes a group of people. They seemed to be awake but were actually asleep for hundreds of years. Allah moved their bodies to the left and right, and their dog was at the entrance with outstretched paws. If someone had seen them, they would have been terrified and run away.
Staying in the same position for a long time can cause serious health problems (Dua for health). It can lead to circulation issues, sores, and blood clots where the body touches the surface it’s lying on.
These sores are called “bed sores” or “pressure sores.” They happen when blood vessels close from constant pressure. Without enough oxygen and nutrients, the skin starts to die, causing sores. If not treated, these sores can become infected and even cause death.
It’s important to change positions every 15 minutes. This reduces pressure and avoids these sores.
The creation of human beings from water
Allah made every living creature from water. Some move on their bellies, some on two legs, and some on four. Allah creates whatever He wants because He has power over everything.
Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and earth were ˹once˺ one mass then We split them apart? And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
(Surah Al-Anbya – 30)
It’s Allah who created humans from water and gave them families. He is powerful.
When we look at the verses about the creation of humans and other living things, we see a miracle. One miracle is how living things are made from water. People only understood this hundreds of years later with microscopes. Even though the Quran mircales was written long before, it mentions this fact clearly.
Water is a big part of living things. Most of their weight is water. Biology books say that 80% of a cell’s basic material is water. This information wasn’t known when the Qur’an was written. But it was mentioned in the Qur’an 1400 years ago.
All life needs water to survive. Animals in dry places have special ways to keep water in their bodies. Without enough water, they can die in a few days. In the 1640s, a scientist found out that water in soil is important for plants to grow.
The Identity hidden in the fingerprint
Yes, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.
(Surah Al-Qiyamah – 4)
This emphasis on fingerprints is special because each person’s fingerprints are unique. No two people have the same fingerprints, not even identical twins who have the same DNA.
Fingerprints form before birth. They stay the same for life, except for scars. That’s why fingerprints are a crucial proof of identity. They are used to identify individuals accurately.
This unique feature of fingerprints wasn’t known until the late 19th century. Before that, people didn’t realize the significance of fingerprints. But the Qur’an emphasizes the importance of fingertips. We now know this thanks to modern science.
