7 effective Dua for Anxiety and stress helped me in my time.

Dua for anxiety and stress from the Quran “those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah. Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort.” (Quran 13:28)

If you are reading this post, be sure to read it entirely because today, once and for all, we will learn the Islamic ways to get rid of Anxiety, depression, and stress. Before we delve deeper into ways to cure Anxiety, we must understand fear; what is it? It is a natural feeling we, like most of us, experience in certain situations, precisely when we feel like we are in danger, are afraid of something or are stressed.

We all value certain things in our lives, like things we love and care about, including ourselves. Thus, the constant fear of losing the things we value the most makes us vulnerable to psychological disorders. However, it is essential to understand the difference between feeling anxious during appropriate situations and having an anxiety disorder.

Sometimes, we feel worried or scared because of sickness, losing a job, getting hurt, or someone we care about passing away. These things can be challenging, but our feelings of worry don’t stick around forever. Anxiety, on the other hand, is a severe kind of problem that’s much stronger than regular worries. It can make life hard for a person. Anxiety isn’t just one thing; it’s a bunch of problems with specific signs, like constantly feeling worried, uncomfortable, upset, and tense.

According to a study from the Berkeley Institute for the Future of Young Americans, new research tells us that about 34% of grown-ups in the United States might experience anxiety troubles at least one time during their lives.

Anxiety from an Islamic perspective.

The effect of embracing the religion has been discussed a lot in the past, but no one talks about Anxiety and stress. For Instance, A group of scientists, including Sargolzaie and others, conducted a study to find out if doing religious activities can help college students avoid problems like feeling very worried or sad. They found that when students spent more time doing spiritual stuff, they felt less sad and anxious and maybe even used fewer bad things.

Practicing Islamic teachings has helped me recover from Anxiety and constant fear in public gatherings. A lifestyle change is required to understand the reality: Anxiety is nothing, just an artificial problem of this negative worldly life.

A great Islamic scholar from the past has studied Anxiety and described it as our hearts are like castles that we must guard. This is a duty for everyone. Ghazali believed the devil is an enemy who always tries to sneak into our hearts.

We are responsible for protecting our hearts from the devil because he starts whispering things if he manages to get in. These whispers create something called “waswasa” in our hearts, which can be thought of as bad thoughts or ideas from the devil. It can mess up a person’s mind and make them feel bad.

Those Muslims who neglect the teachings and Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), like obligatory prayers, or indulge in any sin are the biggest victims of this.

To cure this anxiety problem, one must delve deeper, reinforce the doors, and seal the gaps of our castles (hearts) so that the devil cannot enter.

If we don’t know what leads to these problems, we won’t be able to safeguard our hearts from evil temptations that cause overthinking, stress, and Anxiety. It’s essential to be aware of how the devil tries to sneak in, and Ghazali used stories to illustrate this in his important work, Ihya’ Ulum al-Din.

He pointed out that desire and anger are the main ways the devil can enter our hearts. When anger takes over, it clouds our judgment, and once our rational thoughts are gone, the devil can easily find his way into our hearts.

Once the devil enters our castle (heart), he poisons the mind, leading to a damaged soul, and finally, it makes us far from worshipping the one, the most merciful, the Almighty Allah SWT. The ultimate goal for all human beings can only be attained by surrendering oneself to Allah SWT and following Allah SWT’s commands to secure salvation on the Day of Judgment.

Trust me, the days I have seen in my college life were filled with Anxiety, stress, overthinking, and all the negativity one can have. My creator, Allah, was the only one who helped me escape this problem.

I couldn’t agree more, and this mirrors my personal experience – many of us share this in life: truly, help comes solely from Allah. In the Quran, in Chapter Surah An-Nasr, Verse 1, Allah says, “When Allah’s ultimate help comes and the victory.”

  • Dedicate Yourself to a Higher Purpose: Focus on something more valuable than yourself, which can be achieved by working for the sake of Allah.
  • Promote Righteousness: Help others and invite people to do good deeds.
  • Assist Those in Need: Extend a helping hand to those who require support.
  • Avoid Unnecessary Pursuits: Avoid activities Allah does not command, as they can distract and lead to anxiety.
  • Prioritize Spiritual Wealth: Recognize that accumulating material wealth is like trading emeralds for pebble stones. Aim for heavenly rewards through your actions.

Does Anxiety comes from evil?

Anxiety often arises from the bad things we do and the wrong choices we make. Our cravings and desires are what lead many of us astray. The best way to avoid doing evil or negative things that lead to not feeling good is simple. I will guide you through the process I used to follow, and that process has been shown to me by Allah alone.

The perspective of how you see things in life plays a significant role. So begin by training your mind by saying affirmations such as “Whatever Allah has planned, it is best for me, or he loves me more because of those whom Allah loves, Allah put them in trials and tribulations in this life.

Here’s an affirmation to help you: ‘Don’t dwell on your past, as that’s the devil’s scheme. He doesn’t want you to see the future that Allah has in store for you. Remember, whatever Allah plans is always the best.

This is the beginning. Now, let’s learn about the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) daily. Practices like cutting nails on Friday, saying prayers before eating or dua before leaving the house, showing respect to our parents (Dua for parents), and cherishing our families are the actual ways to live.

In Western countries, these values have been eroded, which may be part of a larger plan, and we all know who’s behind it, ruining everybody’s mental peace.
